I honestly couldn't believe this was actually written by Sophie Kinsella. Something was really off about the style and voice. The plot was so poorly fleshed out I'm wondering if it was written overnight. The jokes are bland and in your face and the light hearted, subtle humor is gone. I liked some parts of the book so the extra star.... Like Becky's growth as a character and mayyybe three jokes.Anyway, Shopaholic is no longer an automatic buy for me, which sucks, because I LOVED the rest of the books (minus the last one) and bought every new book in the series without a second thought.

I'm a big fan of the Shopaholic series but this one took a whole different direction. It picks up right from "Shopaholic to the Stars" which kind of left things hanging but that one was a pretty good read. Sophie could have wrapped that ending up and left this one alone. The plot was a bit far-fetched, even for Becky. Some if not most of it was just not necessary and the attempt at holding the mystery of what Becky's father was up to was very anti-climatic. Being a fan of this series and Sophie Kinsella, I feel like I know these characters and this book was very "uncharacteristic" of all of them.That being said, I am currently readying "I've got your number" which is a good read and more of what we're used to.

I guess the carefree sparkle couldn't last forever. I loved the first few Shopaholic books, but they have been losing their allure with each additional installment after Luke and Becky marry. Jumped the shark, I suppose. This one was a bit better than it's abysmal immediate predecessor, but those elements that made the first few novels in the series work aren't there anymore. Sad!

I love the Shopaholic books. The story in this one was very entertaining and it was a fast read. I really liked the Suze storyline in this one. This was different from others in the series because for the first time Becky was not in a jam, but got to use her creativity to help others get out of sticky situations! I do wish the had been more of a Becky and Luke together though.

I hesitated buying this after reading the not so great reviews, but am glad that I did in the end. Sure, it was a little haphazard and crazy at times, but so is Becky. I actually liked the crazy twists and turns of the story and how it was all wrapped up in the end. Not to mention the fact that fictional writing is for entertainment and this was truly entertaining. I had purchased Shopaholic to the Stars and finished that and got right into this one to continue the story. I really enjoyed this entire series. It was light and fun, just what life needs sometimes.

I bought this book after being left hanging at the end of the last one. Sadly, this is not the Becky I've loved through all the earlier shopaholic books. I was disappointed.

I enjoyed this novel. After several of the other reviews I wasn't sure I would but I wanted to keep going with the series. I liked that Ms. Kinsella actually developed her character. Becky has grown and matured and it makes her realistic. It would have been easy to keep her the same as she was in Confessions of a Shopaholic but this way makes me want to stay with the character.

I love this series, and Becky and her crew. I had to read this one, because the previous book left off so abruptly and I wanted to see what was next. This was kind of slow in the beginning, but picked up and had all kinds of unpredictable twists and turns. A good read if you can hang in there.

My husband was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last fall and put on a low sodium diet. I have followed low fat, low carb, low calorie diets and thought I was nutritionally aware. After spending hours reading labels in the grocery store, I was shocked and angry by the amounts of sodium being fed to us. Thankfully I had spent the summer canning a large amount of garden produce - with no salt - but since I was afraid to buy ANYTHING in the grocery store or order anything in a restaurant anymore, I envisioned a lifetime of canned veggies! I was delighted although somewhat skeptical when I received this book. The first thing my husband requested when he came home from the hospital was a taco salad. I found the Mexican Seasoning and Taco Salad recipes and tried them - absolutely awesome. I am (hopefully was) a saltaholic and did not miss it at all. Have made numerous recipes from the book and although I have found one or two not to my taste - 95% are incredible. Thank you Thank you Thank you. This book lives on my kitchen counter - never in 3 months has it been put away and I recommend it to everyone I know.

I bought this for my 88 year old g-ma. She had to drastically cut back on her sodium intake. She didnt know where to start. In comes this book, delivered to her front door! She loves everything she's tried. Ingredients are in her cabinet. The shepards pie is a weekly thing at her house. I recommend this book for tasty low sodium recipes!😊👍

I need to keep my sodium intake low due to an inner ear condition. I ordered seven low sodium cookbooks, and this is the one my wife latched on to as the best of the bunch. It has great substitutes for high-sodium items like soy sauce, and is a great reference - even though it is a bit dated. As an example, a low-sodium soy sauce was mentioned along with a source; unfortunately the soy sauce is no longer available and neither is the store that carried it. None the less, it told me there were soy sauces out there that are truly low in sodium and with the aid of a search engine I was able to track some down.

This book is a 'must have' book for anyone on a low sodium diet. My dad can only have 1500 mg of sodium daily and this book actually makes it easy! I now make his chili powder, Mexican seasonings, rib/meat rub, mustard and mayonnaise - and it is a very simple, quick process. Wonderful 'normal' recipes - meat loaf, a gourmet hamburger, etc. Chapters divided by meat type and also by ethnic types (Mexican, Asian, etc). I bought my dad's doctor a copy of this book so he could recommend it to his patients, it's that good. This copy was purchased for my butcher's wife who just had a baby and discovered she had an enlarged heart. The book enables anyone to eat good tasting food and still maintain a low sodium diet. This is a great cookbook. I am an avid cook. My husband's low salt diet seemed like it would be a low taste one - but amazingly using Dick L's recipes has meant we have good food. I haven't even gotten the salt shaker out to flavor up my portions. There are plenty of comfort foods that taste great. The low salt bread machine recipes came out really well - which was a surprise to me since I had always thought salt was a necessity for proper bread. Every recipe I've prepared so far has been excellent. He has included little tricks and ingredients that make you not miss the salt.If you are newly diagnosed with any kind of illness that necessitates a low salt diet - you need this cookbook. He includes complete nutrition information for every recipe (including sodium and potassium).

I own a few low-sodium cookbooks, and this is the one I use most often. It is full of recipes that are easy to make, and that are actually useful. One of my favorites is Sesame Chicken. I make that about once a week. It also has a small collection of low-sodium bread machine recipes that I use often. My only criticism is that there seem to be a lot of mistakes in the recipes. For example, one bread machine recipe calls for two tablespoons of yeast, which is far too much. I'm sure it is supposed to say two teaspoons. Also, in some instances, the author's website ([...]) will include a recipe that is in the book, but the amounts of the ingredients differ, often confusing teaspoons and tablespoons. There have been two instances when I've emailed the author to verify the ingredients in a recipe. On one occasion, he replied to tell me there was an error. The other time he did not reply. All in all, I'd say this is a must-have cookbook in the low salt category. Just watch for any ingredients that seem suspicious.

Without question, this is the best low sodium book on the market, and I think I have them all. I had to change my diet to very low sodium, and this book helped me to still enjoy my food. The bread recipes are the best, and they are simple enough that even a inexperienced baker can make them, though I recommend to bake the bread in the oven vs. the bread machine (if you have one). Most recipes are close to regular homemade food, and most of the ingredients are available in local stores. This cookbook helped me to "learn" the low sodium way well enough that I can now experiment with his and my recipes to add variety. Thank you Dick Logue.

It's not what you think! (See what I did there?) Actually it's exactly what you think, except the rope is a lot smaller than you think it's going to be, but that's fine, you can go get bigger rope, I mean eventually you're going to apply this skill in an actual rope-related setting, right? So these little ropes are fine if you're just wanting to, eh, learn the ropes, so to speak. But the main thing is the instructional card packet which is very cool and fairly indestructible unless you light it on fire and melt it because it's plastic and I'm guessing it will burn like you'd expect, with a lot of that greasy black smoke that gets on stuff and stinks bad. But you're not going to light them on fire because why would you? The diagrams are easy to follow and the packet fits in your pocket or purse. Totally worth the money. Would make a great gift for any geeky pre-teen or husband or whomever, but really it's something you'd like for yourself. So go ahead. You know you want it. BUY IT.

The ropes are much shorter and thinner than I thought they'd be. This makes it quite difficult to tie the more complex knots (like Sheepshank and Trucker's hitch). The other major issue is the quality. I've had the product for less than a week, and one of the ropes is already coming apart (see photo). I can't recommend this product due to the poor quality of the ropes. I have performed less than 100 knots with it and it's coming apart.

Fairly quick ship. Think small when ordering, but the knots you learn are very valuable for many situations. If you are a knot-addict then get a book of knots, I'm sure there are many out there. This covers some very important and fairly easy ones, and they give you minor ideas of applications as well as when not to use certain ones. I am pleased, Thank you!

I purchased 6 of these as gifts for family members. Of the 6 only 2 came with the carabiner, cards and both cords!The packaging is awful. Every one is partially open. The one missing the cards is taped shut and still missing the cards??!3 are missing the carabiner.1 is missing the cards.1 has only 1 out of 2 cords.

I wanted to get back to the basics, sometimes you get stuck using whats familiar. The diagrams are easy to understand and the variety of knots are more then adequate for my camping needs.

We bought this as a last minute gift for my ten-year-old's birthday. It was a huge hit! The instructions were very easy to follow, and I would say this is a great product for all ages because my older daughter and younger son also learned to tie knots from this as well. We were very pleased with our purchase. Exactly as described!

I like the product and I have been learning a lot. I just wish the cord or at least one of them is a little longer, it is very difficult to do some of the knots because of the length

I brought this and 2 other books for summer reading for my daughter who is entering the 3rd grade. She really liked the character and was able to relate to her. It might have been a bit above her reading level but she pushed through and learned new words along the way. Overall great book for young African-American girls that are becoming independent readers.

I bought this book for my 6 year old daughter. She, too, has beautiful brown skin, and we are looking for books with main characters that are like her. We took a chance on this series and she loves it. Ruby is sassy, independent, and funny--we have already ordered book #2!

My daughter fell in love with the main character, Ruby. She was completely ingrossed and didn't put it down until she finished it. I was so happy that she found a series that she liked that I tried to get all of this author's Ruby books. I am disappointed to say the author has had a terrible time getting these books in print or published at all. I purchased what I could and will keep on the look out for more.

We love having books with brown and black characters! It's a relatable story and my 8 yo enjoyed it.

This is for one of my granddaughters'.....I haven't gotten any complaints.....

I am such an advocate for reading. I purchased this book for my young daughter who can't totally read it all, but when we read together it's great. The store is great and reminds me so much of who she is. The book arrived in great condition and the price was absolutely reasonable.

What a fun book! She's smart, talented, and working to make her voice heard. It's such a sweet book and my 8yo and I both enjoyed it a lot. Ready for #2!

My god-daughter LOVES this series. And I love anything that stimulates her love of reading.
