The book is well organized and her personal life applications bring meaning to the concepts about which she writes. Amber lives "in the trenches" where life is lived. She is authentic about her struggles and challenges. "The Homeschooling Housewife" would make wonderful gifts to parents, even if they are not homeschooling. And grandparents who are actively engaged with their grandchildren would benefit from having this book in their personal libraries.
This book gives details to help any homeschooling mom. I recommend it to anyone who is homeschooling or thinking about homeschooling. I raised 3 sons on homeschooling. I recognized a lot of what Amber Fox is talking about. She does have a lot of ideas and plans that I had never thought of. I had no choice but to home-school my sons because we were missionaries. It was the most rewarding time. I learned so much teaching. Thank you Amber for your ideas and work.
Juggling it all one priority at a time. Exactly right! This book covers the priorities we have, and does an excellent job of lining them up in a Biblical way. Its full of practical advice, no nonsense included! I would recommend this book to all housewives, whether they work away from or stay home, homeschool or not. While the examples used center around homeschooling, it's easy to translate into most other situations! There's only 1 chapter that is specifically about homeschooling, the others cover your relationship with God, marriage, friends, housekeeping, church, finances, etc.The goal here isn't how to do it all, all the time. It's about organization of priorities, so you can be present in each one, when it's supposed to be the focus.
