Alright, this one was also good, but had a huge issue with it. When they were at the mansion, it was not explained in a believable way why Stephen and Sasha had to constantly leave the room separately to face challengers. That made no sense. They didn't even do meals together. Just seemed to wander the halls facing challenges. Since the challenges themselves weren't on the up and up, then why did they have to always be separate? I just wasn't buying it. Her dad was never far from his mate. If she was in danger of being kidnapped, why let her wander without him? They could have been together and still faced their challengers according to the rules of combat without any issue and it would have been more believable. There was no real good reason from them to be apart. Even if one had a meeting with councillors, the other could wait outside the door. And why she followed some guy from the pack she didn't know was pretty stupid. If she was needed someone would have called her. They did have phones, although you couldn't really tell. They are never utilized. Anyway, despite these things, I loved everything else about this story.

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this book. And yes, I do mean lucky. K.F. Breene nailed it again with another riveting book in the Darkness series. I often found myself devouring the content so fast I would go back and read the page again just to make sure I didn't miss a single, tiny detail. I found this book predictable, yet surprising. Predictable in the sense that I felt myself rooting for something to happen every time the intensity was kicked up a notch, and my hopes for what would transpire were not only met, but exceeded. This was a really exciting book to read, and without giving too much away- I'm SO happy to see how Sasha is developing. Jonas and Charles still have their wit about them, and Jonas is quickly becoming my favorite, in his own way!

I really love these characters and the way they are growing in themselves and as a team/family. I am growing more in love with Jonas as well. I see he will get his own story as well. I love that I have the publication date of the next book as well. I know it's sappy but I would love Sacha to get pregnant. While it may not enhance the story forward i would love Stefan to have his dream come true.Charles is a dream and I love Tim & Ann for their support.Bring on number 4 I say!!!

This book has everything you could ever want in a good read. There is so much action and suspense that it leaves you on the edge of your seat. The characters are amazing and so well developed that they seem real. Charles and Jonas are very funny especially when around Ann. There is so much love in this book. Stefan and Sasha ooze love in everything they do. However the love that always makes me cry is the love between Dominicous and Sasha. He comes to her aid and embraces her like a real Daddy would. This book is so entertaining. I laughed and cried. It was amazing.

The story starts getting really good with this one.Sasha, Stefan, and the crew have no choice but to go to The Council for a few issues. The Council are nothing but a bunch of evil pricks who want nothing but power, and a lot of it. Very few are actually good.Sasha and Stefan are left in the throws of challenge after challenge, but overcome nearly all of them.Sasha, once again, gains an admirer who would love nothing but for her to "join him".Stefan is beaten nearly to death, and that causes Sasha to challenge The Council.Once the head Council member stands behind her, all hell breaks loose.Sasha is nearly kidnapped; Stefan is kidnapped and is about to be sacrifice for a demon; evil members of The Council rise up to claim their power, and Andris is the head mastermind behind it all.I won't spoil the ending, but a very good read. So glad I ran across this series.

What a fun trip into the light fantastic. Some of the reviews I have read have me wondering if I read the same series of books. I am a conservative person, but nothing in this series offended me, and it never even dawned on me that some folks would take some of the scenes so seriously as to compare them to rape. Rape is definitely an ugly subject, but I couldn't justify what happens in this fictional fable as such. This is a paranormal fantasy, and I have never taken that genre as anything other than what it is; the same as I view any sci-fi, vampire or alpha male books.Having said that, I purchased this series one book after another, and I will do the same as more come out. As someone else said, this was a lighthearted story in my eyes with interesting characters, some with an intriguing sense of humor. The dialog was fun, the plots light and entertaining, and the sexual was in the fantasy realm.I am over retirement age and I found the whole thing fun and unoffensive.

The Council is book five in this series and honestly it is my favourite one so far. This book contained huge amounts of action and the stakes have never been higher for Sasha and her group of friends. I couldn’t put this story down as I was sucked in and held my breath multiple times wondering how our heroes would get out of this one. Sasha has always been a work in progress, but I loved how we got to see how far she has come. She is no longer weak, no longer unsure of herself. She showed her strength and instead of getting by with dumb luck, she showed herself getting by with using what she has learned and by being smart. This was a hugely satisfying read and I look forward to continuing on this story with the next book.
